SpaBoom Sweepstakes Guide
Use Facebook to Sweep Your Clients Off Their Feet with Sweepstakes
You can get your first Sweepstakes set up in minutes on your Facebook Page. But to make the most of your contest, there are a few tips we have learned from watching many spa and salon sweepstakes unfold over the last several months. This knowledge is summarized here for your best results.
If you like to see the setup process in action, see below: "Sweepstakes in Under 3 Minutes".
Tip ZERO: Market, Market, Market!
We put this tip first because it is so important. Once your Sweepstakes is planned and underway, get the word out. ANY. WAY. YOU. CAN.
- Put a big shiny flyer at your front desk.
- Put a poster on your front door.
- Hand out cards to clients as they see you with your Facebook address.
- Create a QR code that links to your Facebook Profile and put that on your cards and your posters.
- Send emails with reminds to Like your page.
- Talk it up, blab about how absolutely exciting and wonderful YOUR giveaway is!
Tip One: Don't Sweat the Small Start
Your very first Sweepstakes might not get thousands or even hundreds of entries - and that's O.K. You are establishing trust by giving away your prize publicly, even if the entrant pool is small. Fans that may have hesitated the first time will see your winner chosen and be ready to jump on your next promotion.
Tip Two: Interact Or Else
Stay engaged with your Facebook page and any Likes or comments that you receive - treat your Facebook Page like your voicemail and do not let a client's communication with you go without action. Throughout your Sweepstakes be even more vigilant and that enthusiasm will continue to build trust in your brand.
Tip Three: Uniquely YOU Prizes
Because the prize is entirely your choosing - anything from a dollar gift certificate to a voucher for a package - your imagination is the limit. With the option to give away a regular Instant Gift Certificate or an Offer or promotion code, you can step outside expectations and have fun with it. Salons don't have to just give away hair and salon services - you could treat a new client with a massage from a local spa. No one wants to turn down a massage!
Some of our successful Sweepstakes have been giveaways from another local business - even in a totally different market.
Tip Four: Pool Your Clients First to Increase Exposure
You can spread the word further by including your Sweepstakes in Email Campaigns, and having your clients imported into SpaBoom and ready to go will get that email out to as many clients as possible.
Tip Five: Statistics Don't Lie
Show your fans how much they can increase their chances by getting their friends to enter, too. If Sarah enters your Sweepstakes out of a hundred other contestants, she has a 1 out of 100 chance to win. But if 9 of those 100 are friends that Sarah invited, she has a 1 in 10 chance to win - if an invited friend of hers wins, she wins, too! That's a huge difference and worth mentioning when you promote your Sweepstakes.
Tip Six: Engage From Within
Encourage your staff to enter and invite their friends - if they win, there is nothing wrong with rewarding an employee for their enthusiasm. Your employee's friends are much more likely to Like your business on her recommendation than if they just saw a sidebar advertisement or heard about you somewhere else online.
